Adalene Troupe Boyd Draper was born February 4, 1934 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Phillip J. and Ruth R. Troupe (preceded her in death). She was one of 12 children. Two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death: John J., Sam A. Troupe, Henrietta Matlock, Georgia M. Staples, Glyndalon Collins, Conzella Lattimore and Gloria Townley. One son, Eddie R. Boyd, Jr. and three grandsons, Gerald Boyd, Vertis Derrick, Jr. and Jason Derrick preceded her in death.

At a very early age, she surrendered her life to the Lord.

Adalene was joined in Holy Matrimony to Eddie R. Boyd (preceded her in death). To this union, four sons and four daughters were born: Regina M., Eleanor J., Eddie R. Jr., James A., Crystal V., Neal A., Cherita A., and Arlando.

She later married Henry Draper (preceded her in death).

“Lene” as she was affectionately called, was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools. She received her vocational training from O’Fallon Technical, where she received certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked. During her tenure, she exhibited excellent skills as a nurse, always giving kindness and wisdom to those she served.

Lene transitioned from labor to reward on November 10, 2012. She fought the good fight, finished her course and kept the faith. She leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Regina (Carl) Leatherberry, Eleanor Boyd, Crystal (Ricky) Moffett, Cherita (Elyssie) Winston; three sons, James Boyd, Neal Boyd and Arlando Boyd; one brother, Charles Q. Troupe; three sisters, Betty J. Frye, Sarah Raye, Donna (Tyrone) McNichols; 15 grandchildren, Cortez, Kendra, Nina, Jonathan, Maisha, Kimaada, Fasiri (billy Joe), Atiyyah (Jessica), Jimmy (Ebony), Jacquelynn, Jordan (Faith), Alicia, Dusha, Arlando Jr. and Amber: 18 great-grandchildren; a host of step-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, saints and friends.
