Dallas Edmond, Sr., son of Dupree Edmond and Mary Drinks, was born in Uvalda, Georgia, on August 19, 1916. He departed this life on September 9, 2005, at his residence with his niece, Robin Edmond (Ronnie) Magee.
Dallas joined the Army Air Corp where he received several medals and awards.
He was a member of the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church and a choir member until he moved back to Georgia. While in Georgia he became a member of the Church of Christ, where he went faithfully and worshipped until his health declined.
Dallas was joined in holy matrimony to Myrtle Edmond. To this union, five children were born. His wife and four of his children preceded him in death. He later married Nancy Edmond who also preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are one son, Aubrey (Margaret) Edmond of Queens, NY; a stepdaughter, Margaret (Herbert) Belton, Orange Bew Jersey; one step-son, Joseph (Mary) Simmons, Brooklyn New York; one brother, Titus (Mary) Edmond of Herndon, Virginia; one sister, Rubye Jones of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three sisters-in-law, Catherine (George) Davis, Littleton, North Carolina, Dollie Edmond, White Plains, Virginia and Jeanette Davis, White Plains, Virginia; one brother-in-law, James (Gladys) Putney of Louisburg, North Carolina; a devoted niece, Robin (Ronnie) Magee and children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
