On Monday, September 11, 1989, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Ethel Bales Edmond departed her life in the Spring Valley Skilled Care Home in Jeffersonville, Georgia after an extended illness.

Ethel B. Edmond was born September 5, 1921, to the late Mr. Mrs. Johnnie Bales, Sr. of Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia. She joined Sandy Ford Baptist Church at an early age in 1932. She graduated from Washington Street School in 1943. She was employed at the Emory C. Thomas Grocery Store for a number of years.

On February 24, 1958, she united in marriage with the late Henry G. Edmond. They later moved to Miami, Florida. She connected with the St. Luke Baptist Church and served faithfully on the Number 2 Usher Board for 17 years and also served as president of the Garden Club.

She is survived by one devoted brother Johnnie B. Bales of Warner Robins, Georgia; four aunts, Lennie B. McGirt and Mellonea McGirt, both of Dublin, Nellie McGirt of Belmar, New Jersey, and Flossie Edmond of Dudley, Georgia; three brothers-in-law, Luther Edmond and Charles Edmond, both of Dublin, Georgia and John E. Moore of Adrian, Georgia; six sisters-in-law, Jeannie Edmond and Ruby Parrott, both of Miami, Florida, Luwee Gipson, Omega Kinsey, and Annie P. Edmond, all of Dublin, and Shadie M. Moore of Adrian, Georgia; godmother, Gussie Stuckey and family of Dublin; godchildren, Agnes Conyers and family of Miami, Florida; nieces, nephews, and many devoted cousins and friends including Martha Howell of Warner Robins, Georgia.
