Mr. Oliver Edmond, Sr., 84, was born February 26, 1904 and passed Saturday, May 21, 1988 at his home after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Venus Edmond and the late William Conaway. He was the husband of the late Willie Bell Dixon and the late Versey Johnson. He joined Byrd Hill Baptist Church at an early age and later joined the Church if Christ and served faithfully until his illness a year ago. He was a member of the Shady Grove, Beulah Hill, Sandy Ford, Millville, Byrd Hill, Spring Hill, Laurence Hill, and St. Luke W.M.B.S. He leaves to mourn eleven children: seven daughters, Mrs. Rosa Mae Harris, Mrs. Marie Thomas, Mrs. Dorothy Stevens, and Eva Mae Guyton, all of Dublin, Georgia, Mrs. Annie Bell Story, Mrs. Ethel Mae Hightower and Mrs. Ella Mae Holliman, all of Kissimmee, Florida; four sons, Mr. J.B. Edmond of Dublin, Georgia, Mr. J.D. Edmond, Mr. Thomas Edmond, and Mr. Oliver Edmond, Jr., all of Detroit, Michigan; one brother, Rev. D.D. Edmond; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mrs. Mae Ollie Edmond of Dublin, Georgia; three sons-in-law, Mr. Buster Thomas, Mr. Tobe Stevens, and Mr. Claxton Guyton; three daughters-in-law, Mrs. Irene Edmond and Mrs. Ethel Edmond of Detroit and Mrs. Catha Edmond of Dublin; sicty-four grandchildren; seventy great grandchildren; twenty-seven great great grandchildren; also seven stepvhildren, Cora Carr, Hattir White, Minnie Mae Allen, Lillie Bell Parker, Gussie Horne, John Henry Johnson, and Hardy B. Johnson; also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to |
