Luther “Sonny Boy” Edmond, son of the late Shade and Luella Spikes Edmond, of Laurens County, Georgia, was born September 22, 1916. Luther was the seventh child of five brothers and six sisters born to the Edmonds. At an early age, Luther joined St. James Baptist Church in Adrian, Georgia. Late her joined Williams Chapel Baptist Church were he serve faithfully as a Deacon and Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. Deacon Edmond was a member of Landmark Lodge No. 64, P.H.A., F& A.M. and Tri County Chapter 8 , Royal Arch Masons. He was retired employee of Forstmann and Company, Inc. Deacon Edmond united in marriage to Alberta Jackson Edmond, who preceded him in death. He quietly slipped away and entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 27, 1994, following a brief illness. He is survived by a brother Charles R. (Ann) Edmond of Dublin, four sisters: Ruby E. Parrott, Miami, Florida; Lue Wee (W.C.) Gibson; Omega Kinsey both of Dublin; Shadie M. (John) Moore of Adrian; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and a dear friend, Mandell Beard of Dublin, GA. |
